"Hypnosis helps you eat like a slim person by reprogramming your subconscious," says Dr. Amir Ben-Solomon, CHt, Master Certified Hypnotherapist of North Carolina's Historic District in Wilmington.

Guideline #1
Eat an abundance of fresh vegetables and fruits.  They are loaded with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber.  Choose a variety of deeply pigmented produce, which contain disease-preventing phytochemicals.  Choose organic produce whenever possible, especially strawberries, peaches, apples, cherries, bell peppers, spinach, celery, and string beans as they are among the most heavily sprayed with pesticides.

Guideline #2
Choose high quality organic protein.  Beans are great blood sugar regulators and a good source of fiber and other nutrients.  Fish is an excellent source of protein and cold-water fatty fish such as mackerel, salmon and anchovies, bluefish, sardines, tuna, and herring are high in the essential Omega-3 fatty acid.  Meat and poultry should be free-range and raised without antibiotics or hormones.  Only if dairy is well tolerated, choose raw cheeses, without dyes and chemicals.  Select yogurt and skim milk from cows raised without hormones and antibiotics.  Eggs are extremely nutritious and should come from drug-free free-range chickens.  Look for eggs that are high in Omega-3 fatty acids.

Guideline #3
Consume a variety of whole grains, beans, nuts, and seeds, abundant sources of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants and phytochemicals.  These foods contain natural fat and thus go rancid more quickly than processed foods.  Nuts and seeds should be purchased raw and should smell fresh.  Try to buy organic, especially wheat - as it is heavily sprayed with pesticides.

Guideline #4
Eat foods that provide a proper balanced of Omega-3 fatty acids.  The average American is currently ingesting 10 to 40 times more Omega-6 than Omega-3 fatty acids, largely due to modern food processing and agricultural practices.  This contributes to cancer, heart disease, and many other maladies.  Good sources of the Omega-3 family include cold-water fatty fish, flax and hemp seeds, and walnuts.  Good sources of Omega-6 family include sunflower, flax, hemp, pumpkin and sesame seeds, walnuts, pecans, filberts, and Brazil nuts.

Guideline #5
Eat high quality, organic fat, including extra virgin olive oil, butter from drug-free animals, and unrefined, unhydrogenated coconut oil.  The latter contains large amounts of lauric acid, which is found in human milk.  Critical to infant nutrition, lauric acid is used in infant formulas and possesses antimicrobial properties.  Coconut oil is tremendously resistant to rancidity and due its chemical stability is highly suitable for frying.

Guideline #6
Eat at least 60% of your food raw.  Many nutrients and beneficial substances such as the water soluble vitamins C and B-complex, enzymes, and certain phytochemicals are destroyed during cooking.  Several toxins are also created while cooking.

Guideline #7
Using previously listed criteria, select only food that is both visually appealing, delicious, and agrees with your system.  Eat simple, small meals with a limited number of ingredients and pay attention to how you feel for several hours after eating.  Avoid drinking beverages with your meal, as this interferes with and tends to dilute the natural digestive juices already in your body.  Relish every bite!

Lose Weight For Good!

"Hypnosis helps you eat like a slim person by reprogramming your subconscious," says Dr. Amir Ben-Solomon, CHt, Master Certified Hypnotherapist of North Carolina's Historic District in Wilmington. “You lose weight and keep it off long term because hypnotic suggestion changes your whole relationship with food, mentally as well as physically.”

Hypnosis helps you develop a healthy relationship with food.  It gives you a new mindset that you can apply to your life every day.  Once you do that, then you can change your behavior and stop making yourself miserable.  Solomon says, “With hypnosis, we increase your ability to absorb suggestion.  You replace ineffective, destructive behavior… effortlessly… with healthier behavior and you finally see the resolution of your life-long battles.”

Despite its many dramatic successes, hypnosis can worry people who still believe the “witchcraft” image of hypnosis they see in old movies – which in fact, is nothing more than “stage hypnosis.”  It is important to understand that Dr. Solomon’s practice is “clinical hypnosis,” which is for therapeutic treatment of a vast variety of maladies.

“People confuse suggestibility with gullibility, “Solomon says.  “The biggest misconception is that some people believe hypnosis can make them do things against their will or that it can brainwash them.  But the truth is we can’t get people to do anything they don’t want to do.  People think hypnosis will put them in a coma-like state, but that’s also not true.  They hear everything during their sessions and they maintain total control at all times.”

Now that many respected hospitals throughout the United States and abroad, use hypnosis in their treatment, modern hypnotherapy is becoming increasingly popular in the mainstream medical community.  It is certainly popular at Dr. Solomon’s office, where they now book 50 to 60 sessions a week.  Word of mouth referrals compromise 99% of his “advertising.”

While weight loss is the most sought after treatment, many clients come to Dr. Solomon’s office for help in stopping smoking. They’re amazed to learn that even someone who has smoked for decades can quit permanently.  Because hypnosis eliminates the idea that you were a smoker, you no longer think like a smoker or act like a smoker.

And people quit smoking without gaining weight or replacing smoking with other bad habits like chain-sucking lollipops or obsessively chewing gum.  “We remove the bad habit and we don’t replace it with another bad habit,” says Solomon.  “Once you stop thinking like a smoker, you’re free.”  It’s not like the patch where smokers still get the nicotine they crave.  People on the patch still feel the urge to smoke because they still think like a smoker and still act like a smoker.”  It’s all about permanent, positive results – without the use of needles, drugs or painful deprivation.

People also seek out hypnosis to reduce stress and tension in their lives.  “With hypnosis,” Solomon says, “clients experience immediate relief and they learn self-hypnosis techniques to release stress and tension continually so it will not build up and become destructive.  Stress does a tremendous amount of damage to the body and dealing with it increases the quality of life.”

The Hypnotherapy Practice of Amir Ben-Solomon, CHt fills a genuine need as a resource for resolving problems permanently.  It continues to focus on new ways to help clients attain the life they want.  Dr. Solomon also works with corporations to help employees reprogram their subconscious so they can achieve their goals and he works one-on-one with individuals who want to change their lives but need help to do it.  Many families are now recognizing the benefits of hypnotherapy for their children, as well.  Grades improve, focus is increased, confidence is raised, and an overall happy child is the result.

“Ultimately, my hypnotherapy sessions are known for helping people take action to wipe away years of negative programming,” says Solomon  “So much of what dominates our daily lives are habits that we have unintentionally allowed to run on automatic pilot.  A simple example is that we eat everything on our plates even when we are full.  The key to having the kind of life you want is to get rid of those habits and acquire good habits.  Then, I help you make good habits automatic.”

Amir Ben-Solomon, CHt is so confident of his clients’ ability to make permanent life changes, he offers an unconditional guarantee.  “You will get the results you want no matter how long it takes,” says Solomon.  His countless “word-of-mouth” referrals prove it.
